David Horniblow, clarinet, bass sax Tuesday 20 May

David Horniblow is an in demand clarinet and saxophone player on the London scene. Over the last few years, he's added the mighty bass saxophone to his arsenal of instruments.
David is going to talk about and demonstrate the instrument and its role as a bass instrument in the 1920's. He'll also talk about its greatest exponent, the New York virtuoso Adrian Rollini, who was one of the first great American musicians to actually live and work for a period in London, playing nightly at the Savoy. David will also talk about what drew him to the instrument and the challenges and rewards of learning the unusual but fun member of the saxophone family.
